This was fun to do. Many years ago, Adam was part of a huge online Heroclix-based RPG group. It largely boiled down to a handful of people writing long, elaborate fanfiction back and forth and using 'Clix to determine the outcome of all the fights. They remade their own DCUniverse, and it was blissful. It came right at the time Adam was falling out of love with DC comics, becoming more and more disillusioned with the choices of DC editorial and the direction of their books. The RPG allowed him to bask in all his love of these characters and their mythos without having to actually read the comics that were driving us both nuts on a weekly basis.

So, the guy who helped Adam run the online DCU, and who helped take over when he stepped down, commissioned him to do this piece representing the Metropolis team. Superman died, and these are the characters who stepped in to fill his absence. They're doing a damn fine job. ;)
