TMNT Redesign Project: Hero Shot & Exploration
Each year for our Patreon during July, our supporters pick a property and Adam does a complete ground-up redesign. In 2020, the winner was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - one of Adam's favorite things, and something he'd wanted to take a swing at redesigning for a long time. This is the result. Enjoy!

Full Hero Lineup
The Turtles in casual wear. We imagine they'd spend most of their down-time in more relaxed clothing rather than their ninja gear.
Initial mutant turtle anatomy exploration. Trying to find head-shapes and bodies we liked.
Once the body was chosen, the chest plastron was next. We ultimately gave each turtle a unique plastron and shell.
Shells! Shorter shells/plastrons would allow more freedom of movement, and since the spine is fused to the shell, it needed to be flattened to allow an upright posture.
Shorter shells and plastrons meant much greater freedom of movement, lighter figures, and a more stealthy look. Additionally, we discovered to our dismay, it would require them to wear pants...
