This was our submission for Udon's 2015 "Art of Capcom" book. Didn't make it in for whatever reason, but that doesn't mean we can't share it with all of you fine people!
We've wanted to do a big Street Fighter piece for a long, long time. The SF2 arcade game was one of our early obsessions as kids. Adam would ride my bike to the golf course, walk the 18 holes digging through trashes for discarded cans and bottles, ride those over to the corner grocery to exchange for .10 cents each (yeah, Michigan!), and split the profits between comics and quarters for Street Fighter. Comfort would play every day with her little brother Steve for years. We still play often, though we aren't any good, and our love for the characters, the lore, and the whole aesthetic of the SF franchise is as strong as ever.
The drawing was by Adam, colors by both Adam and Comfort. As is typical of our stuff, we couldn't decide on one or even a few characters, and so wound up doing pretty much all of them. What can we say? We just couldn't choose who we wanted to work with most.
