"I never liked Bomb Man in MM1. He was so dumpy, and his weapon sucked. But as I was working on this redesign, I took that as an opportunity to really break the mold a bit and do something fun. It worked - the new Bomb Man is one of my favorite designs of the project. He's also the first to use what is basically a prototype for the eventual Mega Man armor. Here it's bulky and huge, but by the time Dr. Light had to build a suit for Rock, he's able to make it lightweight, flexible, and smaller."
