"Fire Man was the easiest boss to remake, because he was already the coolest (hottest?) looking. His helmet and armor reminded me of a knight, so I used that as a base aesthetic to start with. I loved the idea of shooting flames in wide sheets rather than big bursts, and can see Mega Man jumping and swinging his arms around him as he shoots fire, creating that "flame shield" effect the Fire Storm has. I really tried to keep the red and silver color scheme of the original, but just couldn't make it look good enough. Red and black was just tougher and better looking."
