TMNT Redesign Project: April O'Neil
Each year for our Patreon during July, our supporters pick a property and Adam does a complete ground-up redesign. In 2020, the winner was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - one of Adam's favorite things, and something he'd wanted to take a swing at redesigning for a long time. This is the result. Enjoy!

Had a vision for April right away-- we knew almost exactly how we wanted her to feel. She's an intern at Shredder's research science institute; nerdy, brilliant, fun, and too curious for her own good.
The biggest x-factor for April's design was her hair. Tried a LOT of styles to find one with the right balance of practical and stylish.
Exploring different eyeglasses. The big, round, slightly cat-eyed lens look was suitably adorable. Also, the hair dye gives April her classic red-head appeal.
April's parents! Her father was a lead scientist at Shredder's institute who died during the accident that led to the creation of the turtles 17 years ago; April follows in his footsteps. Her mother's maiden name is O'Neil.
